First Meeting of AEROSPACE CHINA Editorial Board Held in Beijing

The first meeting of the newly established AEROSPACE CHINA Editorial Board was held on June 13 in Beijing. Board Chairman BAO Weimin and members are willing to make the journal be authoritative and influential in the space community, where technologists can express their original thoughts and academic ideas on fundamental, state-of-the-art and strategic space technologies and new technological applications, especially the latest achievements of China’s space technologies and international cooperation. The second QIAN Xuesen forum with the theme of “Towards the Future of Commercial Space” initiated by the journal and sponsored by the China Aerospace Academy of Systems Science and Engineering was held on the same day. Nearly 200 representatives attended the forum and exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities brought by commercial space. Experts including the AEROSPACE CHINA Board members made keynote speeches covering topics such as low cost and reusability of launch vehicles, micro satellites, commercial launch services and commercial remote sensing as well as commercialization of the aerospace industry including technology development, equipment manufacturing, the market at home and abroad, along with the commercial mode and operation management.
